According to a report from The Telegraph’s Jason Burt, Romelu Lukaku is attempting to force a move away from Chelsea. The Belgian, who is valued at just shy of €90 million by transfermarkt, is aiming to return to Inter Milan where he enjoyed a successful spell before his move to Stamford Bridge.
Romelu Lukaku Aiming to Force Move to Inter Milan
Misfiring
Romelu Lukaku’s return was greeted with great optimism by Chelsea fans who had seen him do wonders for Inter Milan. His massive price tag was initially looking worthwhile as he scored some key goals early in the season.
However the striker lost form and as the campaign wore on, goals from him became a rarity. At certain points of the season, Lukaku was dropped entirely with Thomas Tuchel favouring something akin to a false 9 with someone like Kai Havertz leading the line. As the season came to a close the 29-year-old finished with a total of 15 goals in 44 games, although only 8 of these came in the Premier League.
It is certainly not the worst output ever but a far cry from the 30 goals in 44 appearances the striker achieved in his final season with Inter Milan.
On the Move
According to the most recent comments from Thomas Tuchel, the Chelsea boss is happy to keep Lukaku on hand as part of his squad. However, it now appears this was just papering over the cracks as the player himself wants a move back to Italy.

Inter Milan will be happy to re-sign the player after finishing second to AC Milan in the Serie A this season, and have even started the process of bringing the Belgian back to the San Siro. A big game striker like Lukaku could no doubt provide the edge as the team aims to regain the domestic title next season and tussle it away from their fiercest rivals.
With Chelsea’s takeover now officially complete the club are allowed to sign new players which means that a Lukaku exit could be likely with a replacement striker likely already lined up.
