The Henrikh Mkhitaryan Inter Milan move is nearing completion, according to Fabrizio Romano. Mkhitaryan has declined a contract renewal from AS Roma, essentially giving Inter the green light. The Armenian star will be signing a two-year deal with the Milanese giants.
Romano also mentions that Mkhitaryan wanted Champions League football once again, which made his decision easier.

Mkhitaryan is 33-years-old and vastly experienced. He’s played for a number of major clubs now, such as Shaktar Donetsk, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, and Manchester United. His Serie A career began at Roma, where he enjoyed a couple of strong seasons, but now he’s taking another step up in Italy. Mkhitaryan’s career is closer to its end than its beginning, but he’ll bring both talent and experience to Inter.
This past season was solid for the player, as he scored five goals and provided six assists in 31 Serie A matches. The season prior, however, was a lot more productive statistics wise. In 2020/21, Mkhitaryan scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in 34 league matches.
Roma are no mediocre Serie A team either. They’re managed by a massive name in Jose Mourinho and routinely qualify for European football, albeit not always the Champions League. If Mkhitaryan can produce for them, he can certainly produce for Inter.
Inter are also looking for more help up front. One of their top scoring and assisting threats in Ivan Perisic just joined Tottenham Hotspur. That, of course, created a large void in the attack. Perisic was a star in Milan, so perhaps Mkhitaryan won’t completely replace him, but the positive for Inter faithful is that the club acted quickly. In addition, Inter are also tracking Paulo Dybala on a free deal, while Lautaro Martinez is showing his desire to remain. The club is making the necessary moves to regain their position at the top of Serie A.
