Chelsea have no intention of giving up their pursuit of French international defender Jules Kounde, Fabrizio Romano reports.
The Blues have long been admirers of the Sevilla defender and will again make their move this summer.

Chelsea Want to Get Their Man
Sevilla have resisted the Blues’ attempts to sign Kounde in the past – even if Chelsea previously thought a verbal agreement was in place. Though, a deal is appearing more and more inevitable. The Spanish side, though, have lost Diego Carlos to Aston Villa after finding an agreement with the English side.
That might make things harder for Chelsea, however, they are prepared to open talks once sanctions are over with Tedd Boehly’s purchase of the club successful.
Thomas Tuchel is in desperate need of defenders with Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger leaving the club this summer. There are also question marks over the future of club captain Cesar Azpilicueta.
Kounde has been part of La Liga’s strongest defence with Sevilla conceding the fewest of all in 2021/22.
He has played nine times for France and, considering his young age at 23, has loads more to give.
Chelsea are reportedly going to give Thomas Tuchel a transfer budget of £200 million this summer transfer window and won’t shy away from a big bid for the French international defender.
Kounde played 44 games for Sevilla this season, scoring three and assisting one. He was a Europa League winner in 2020 and won the Nations League in 2021.
