Chelsea Women may have crashed out of the Women’s Champions League at the end of 2021, but as the calendar turned to 2022 they found form again. Chelsea pulled off the domestic quadruple in 2021 and they will be aiming to pull that off again in 2022. To start that off, they must beat Manchester City in the Conti Cup final on March 4.

If Emma Hayes’ women come away with the win in the final it will be their third league cup win in a row, which would equal Manchester City’s three League Cup wins.
Both sides trail Arsenal who have won the tournament five times. With City out of the running in the WSL they will be going all out to win at least this trophy to salvage their underwhelming season.
Who Is the Favourite
Chelsea and Manchester City are both titans of the women’s game in England, with both having invested heavily to bring the best players around to their clubs.
Despite that, Manchester City have struggled this season, they are fifth in the WSL currently and lost both league games this season to Chelsea. Chelsea also knocked City out of the FA Cup back in October. In the head-to-head, Chelsea emerges as clear favorites.

The recent form of both teams paints a different picture. Since the start of 2022 both sides have had a lot of success with City’s only loss in that time coming to Chelsea in the WSL, other than that and a draw with Arsenal it has been nothing but wins for the City women.
COVID has disrupted Chelsea’s return to action but they too are almost spotless since the beginning of 2022, only two draws stain their record.
Chelsea will head into the 2022 Conti Cup Final with all the confidence in the world of continuing their domestic dominance.
City will no doubt put up a fight but Emma Hayes and her side have a winning mentality that may give them the edge
