Thomas Frank Rewarded for Fine Season With Brentford

Thomas Frank

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has signed a new contract until the summer of 2025, according to The Athletic.

Frank’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of the next season. However, he has committed his future to the West London side.

It is a just a reward for what has been a fantastic first season in the Premier League. The Bees currently find themselves in 14th place and are nine points clear of the relegation zone. They have also managed big wins over Arsenal, West Ham United, and Aston Villa this season.

Huge Boost for Brentford

Thomas Frank arrived at Brentford as part of Dean Smith’s backroom team in December 2016. When Dean Smith left to become Aston Villa boss, he was announced as Brentford’s new Head Coach.

The Dane guided Brentford to promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history by defeating Swansea City 2-0 in the Championship Play-Off Final last season.

Under Frank’s stewardship, Brentford have been a breath of fresh air and a fantastic addition to the Premier League. Their attacking and relentless counter-pressing approach has won numerous admirers this season.

The Brentford hierarchy will be looking to build on the success they have had so far this season and have a strong finish to the campaign. Having that security of tying down Thomas Frank to a longer contract will be key to this short-term objective.

It will also be key to their long-term objective of establishing themselves as a Premier League club and avoiding the fate of Sheffield United, who had a successful first season back in the top flight only to be relegated the next season.

As things stand, Brentford look safer than ever, with Frank’s extension only solidifying them even more.
