There is no doubting the fact that Manchester United need reinforcements sooner rather than later, and, as such, the January transfer news continues to heat up. Ralf Rangnick is clearly keen to offload dead wood, with departures expected. According to Fabrizio Romano, Eric Bailly’s future could be at AC Milan on loan. The coming days could see the Italians take a step forward in their pursuit of the centre-back.
Meanwhile, as per Jonathan Shrager, Dean Henderson could opt for a loan move this month in search of more game time. It is unlikely that the goalkeeper will leave permanently due to his commitment to Manchester United, however.
Potentially coming the other way is Denis Zakaria. The midfielder has had talks with Manchester United, according to Romano, with a bid yet to be presented to Borussia Monchengladbach. Available for free this summer, Zakaria may be forced to wait for a move.

Rangnick Must Clear Deadwood
It feel like this is being repeated for the fifth straight year, but the truth of the statement remains the same. Manchester United must clear their deadwood. Those that are not offering anything other than an extra wage to pay must be show the door if The Red Devils want to turn their season around.
Of course, there is still plenty left to do this month in regards to transfers. And we will see where Manchester United are at come the end of it. But, for now, the ship continues to look likely to sink, especially after Rangnick’s start at the club. The main aim from now until the end of the season will be to find a place in the top four. Do that, and they can focus on a summer of potential improvements and change throughout the club, from top to bottom.
