Roma striker Tammy Abraham has been added to England’s squad for their upcoming matches against Andorra and Hungary, reports David Ornstein of The Athletic.
Abraham is not thought to be replacing anybody in the squad and has been rewarded for his excellent start to life in Serie A under the management of Jose Mourinho.
The 24-year-old has scored four goals and created another two since his €40 million move from Chelsea in the summer. His most recent contribution was in the 2-0 win over Empoli on Sunday when his effort came back off the bar for Henrikh Mkhitaryan to convert the rebound.

Abraham Returns
This is the first time England manager Gareth Southgate has picked Abraham since November 2020. His selections for the national team became sparse after he was gradually fazed out of the Chelsea line-up by Thomas Tuchel once he arrived at the club last season.
In total, he has made six appearances for the national team, scoring one goal – the last in a 7-0 win against Montenegro in November 2019. His debut came a year earlier in a goalless draw at home to Germany.
Other Returnees
Another player to return to the England fold – and another from Serie A – is AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori.
The centre-back has made a solitary appearance for England, which came in 2019 when he was playing regularly for Chelsea under Frank Lampard.
As well, Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins comes back in, as does Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who was a late call-up to the Euro 2020 squad after Dean Henderson went home injured.
England’s Matches
England play their seventh and eighth matches of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in this international break.
They travel to Andorra on Saturday, October 9 with kick-off at 7.45pm, before returning to Wembley to host Hungary on Tuesday, October 12 with the same kick-off time.
Next month’s international break will see the Three Lions complete their qualifying campaign against Albania and San Marino, although qualification could already be wrapped up by then.
