Popular Figure
The 33-year-old was a popular figure at Carrow Road, but injuries hampered his final years with the club.
Klose joined the club in January 2016, but despite his best efforts, could not prevent them from being relegated to the Championship.
The Swiss international became an important figure at the back the following season, making 35 appearances for the club.
Following two unsuccessful attempts, Klose helped the Canaries return to the Premier League at the third time of asking, making 33 appearances during the 2018/19 campaign.
However, after suffering a serious injury, Klose made just seven appearances upon their return to their top-flight. He did return during the midst of the Covid-19 lockdown, but could not prevent Norwich from being relegated.
Klose was then loaned out to Basel last season, but followed to make a single appearance after suffering a further injury.
Fallen Down the Pecking Order
Unfortunately, the 33-year-old has fallen down the pecking order under Daniel Farke at Carrow Road.
New signing Ozan Kabak is likely to be first-choice at the heart of defence, and will be joined by Grant Hanley and Ben Gibson to be named in the starting line-up.
As a result, coupled with his recent injury record, it was unlikely that Klose was going to make his way into the first-team this season. Norwich need a reliable defender, and the Swiss international could not provide that.
