Dennis Praet Moves in Search of Regular First Team Minutes
Dennis Praet has moved back to Italy two seasons after joining the Foxes from Sampdoria. With the World Cup coming next season, the midfielder return to Italy with an eye on keeping his place in the Belgium national team.
Praet joined Leicester from Sampdoria in 2019 with a lot of promise but struggled to break into the starting line-up. The 27-year-old often found himself behind the likes of James Maddison, Youri Tielemans and Wilfred Ndidi. The midfielder has not played a single minute for the Foxes so far this season.
He made 60 appearances and scored three goals for the Foxes during the two seasons with the club. But the midfielder often found himself starting off the bench. In fact, the Belgian started just 22 of 47 league matches he played for Leicester City.
Return to Italy
A product of the famed Genk youth academy, Praet moved to Serie A in 2016 after an impressive five-season with Belgian giants Anderlecht. The midfielder quickly established himself as a regular in the Sampdoria lineup. He was an integral part of Blucerchiati during his time at the club. In three seasons with Sampdoria, Praet made 106 appearances and scored four goals.
A Busy Transfer Window for Leicester City
The Foxes have been very busy this summer. Brendan Rodgers’ side have seen five new players joining the team this season, including Ademola Lookman on a season-long loan from RB Leipzig. They have also seen three first-team players moving out of the club.
