Newcastle United Yet to Lodge Bid for David Brooks

Rumours have surfaced that David Brooks could have been the subject of a deadline day bid from Newcastle United but, according to Tom Crocker of the Daily Echo, there has been no move as of yet for the player.

No Newcastle Offer for David Brooks Yet

David Brooks Could Stay at Bournemouth With Newcastle Yet to Make Bid

The 24-year-old has lit up both the Premier League and Championship in recent seasons for Bournemouth and remains a first-team regular for the club when he is fully fit.

He’s played in four games for the Cherries so far this campaign and has already got off the mark for the side, bagging one goal.

Last year, he played 32 times and managed ten goal contributions as Bournemouth tried to gain promotion back into the top tier. They finished sixth and entered the play-offs but were unable to get that elusive promotion.

Interest in Brooks Has Been High for Last Few Seasons

Still in the second tier then, there is interest from higher up the pyramid in the former Sheffield United man.

Newcastle were believed to have been keen to try and seal a deal for the player before the window shuts as they look to push higher up the Premier League.

However, these reports are claiming that there has yet to be a bid from the Toon Army for the player and that so far, it looks as if he will be staying with the Cherries.

Unless Steve Bruce’s team make a bid for Brooks soon, then the player may end up having to stay in the Championship with his current side until at least the winter transfer window opens.

It would certainly be a boost to Bournemouth to keep the forward at the club, as he has proven he is more than capable at Championship level. For Newcastle though, it would be a blow that they would be unable to add such a talent to their attack during the summer transfer window.

This would line up well with Mark McAdam’s report that claimed no Bournemouth first-team player would be leaving before the close of business. The Cherries are desperate to hold the team together and losing Brooks would be a blow – but it appears he could be set to stay.
