As per Jack Pitt-Brooke and Charlie Eccleshare of The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has asked the leave the club. The news comes as no surprise when considering the Frenchman’s place, or more the lack of it, in Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad. In a recent press conference, the Spurs boss added some fuel to the fire, saying: “I can be completely honest with you, Tanguy is not going to be involved in the squad on Sunday.”
Ndombele has now been unhappy under two managers, with a fallout with Jose Mourinho in classic Mourinho fashion becoming apparent last year. Many aimed the blame towards the manager for the situation. Under Espírito Santo, however, the situation has not changed, leaving many questions for the player to answer.

Espírito Santo Wants Commitment and Commitment Only
It’s become very clear from the off that Nuno Espírito Santo will not tolerate a lack of commitment to his rebuild at the club. No matter how big the player, he will not hesitate to go on without them. In the opening game of the season, the former Wolves manager’s first starting lineup very much expressed this philosophy, with the likes of Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga handed a starting place over Serge Aurier and Tanguy Ndombele.
Espírito Santo deserves plenty of credit for how he’s dealt with the Harry Kane situation, too. Seemingly growing more and more desperate to leave, Kane returned late from his holidays before ironically missing the Manchester City win and the disappointing loss to Pacos de Ferreira in the Europa Conference League.
The new manager has continuously brushed off questions regarding Kane’s future, and looks focused on working with the squad that he is guaranteed to have at his disposal. And, at this moment in time, that aforementioned squad is unlikely to include Tanguy Ndombele and maybe even Harry Kane.
