Ever since appointing Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira at the beginning of the summer, Crystal Palace have been cleaning house in the transfer market. Many were left worried for them following a mass exodus of players at the end of last season, but it seems they always had a plan; a plan that a loan for Conor Gallagher is a big part of, according to Matt Woosnam of the Athletic.
For the first time in what feels like forever, Palace look in a position to turn mid-table mediocrity down in favour of new heights in the Premier League.
You look at their squad, and the only standout is no longer just Wilfried Zaha. Now, opposition must be aware of the likes of Michael Olise, whilst the likes of Marc Guehi and Joachim Andersen sweep up at the back.

Crystal Palace: A Younger, More Well-Rounded Side Under Vieira
The main issue under Roy Hodgson seemed to be the constantly ageing squad on top of its inability to simply get the Selhurst Park faithful off their feet. In the space of a couple of months, however, that has dramatically changed.
The Palace squad has the perfect mix. From showboaters and engines to no-nonsense defenders, the Eagles haven’t looked this impressive, on paper, as a collective, in years.
Adding Conor Gallagher to the side will likely go under the radar compared to previous signings, but he could turn out to be one of the most important additions. His work rate can compliment the swagger of Eberechi Eze to add that needed balance. Eze, when back fit, will have the license to simply be himself. Let Gallagher sweep up behind whilst Eze puts on a show, that should be the message.
The summer business just continues and continues for Crystal Palace, undoubtedly to the delight of the fans who will be desperate to get back to Selhurst Park on the opening day.
