Sheffield Wednesday have completed the loan signings of Middlesbrough’s Lewis Wing and Burnley’s Bailey Peacock-Farrell. Both will stay with Darren Moore’s side until the end of the 2021/22 season.

Statements of Intent
After the horror show of last season, not many were tipping Sheffield Wednesday to be fighting for direct promotion back to the Championship. However, after a good summer window, they are now putting together a side that looks capable of challenging for the top spots.
Wing has been a constant threat in the Championship for Middlesbrough and could realistically be playing in the top half of that division, let alone in League One. His place in the side at Boro, though, has been under question, which resulted in his loan to Rotherham United last season and this move to Wednesday.
Peacock-Farrell, meanwhile, brings a small amount of Premier League experience with him having arrived from Burnley. The majority of his career, though, has come at Championship level with Leeds United.
The 24-year-old made 40 appearances for the Whites, mostly in the 2018/19 campaign, which resulted in his move to the Premier League with Burnley, where he has been limited to just eight outings.
The goalkeeper is also a full international for Northern Ireland, having made 21 appearances since his 2018 debut in a goalless draw against Panama. Despite qualifying for England too, he affirmed his wish to represent Northern Ireland by making his competitive debut in a defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Both additions signal Wednesday’s hopes of getting back into the Championship at the first attempt. They are sure to be one of the many teams fighting at the top end of the table.
