Liverpool defender Neco Williams is keen to move away from Anfield this summer in search of regular first-team football.

Williams Wants Regular First Team Football
Although Liverpool are reluctant to sell the defender, club officials are sympathetic towards Williams’ desire to play first-team football, and would allow him to leave for around £10 million, per The Athletic.
Making 25 appearances over the course of the past two campaigns, Williams appeared frequently due to the Reds’ injury crisis at the back last season. With Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk all due to return from injury, the young Welshman’s chances of appearing regularly in a Liverpool shirt look slim.
As is natural when it comes to the sale of homegrown academy graduates, Liverpool are reticent to sell Williams, who has been with the club since the age of nine, but recognise the importance of player sales due to the ongoing financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
There are a number of Premier League clubs interested in signing Williams. Aston Villa, Southampton, Leeds and Burnley have all been keeping a keen eye on the youngster throughout the last year.
The prospect of a young, homegrown defender capable right-back may well tempt one of those four clubs into making a bid, particularly when Liverpool’s valuation of Williams is set at such a reasonable price.
However, no formal offer for Williams has been submitted so far, with the player currently on international duty for Wales at Euro 2020. Were a bid to be received at the right valuation, Liverpool could likely sell their academy graduate, given their lack of a need to replace Williams, thanks to Joe Gomez’s ability to deputise at right-back.
Before any negotiations over a change of clubs takes place, Williams’ priority will be to help Wales into a second successive quarter-final at the European Championships, after they qualified for the round of 16 despite a 1-0 loss to Italy in Rome on Sunday.
