Leicester City are in advanced talks to sign Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, according to Fabrizio Romano. Edouard has been at Celtic since 2017, scoring 85 goals in 168 appearances for the club. Brendan Rodgers is close to adding Edouard to their attacking strike force alongside Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Odsonne Edouard: Ready to Make a Move
23-year-old Edouard started his career with the Paris Saint-Germain academy. However he never made an appearance for the French giants. It was actually Brendan Rodgers who signed him on loan for the 2017/18 season, where he scored nine goals in 22 league games. A year later, Celtic broke their club record to sign him permanently, in a deal worth over £8 million.
Edouard has been a prolific goalscorer in his four years at Celtic Park. In 112 Scottish Premiership matches, Edouard scored 64 goals. His efforts also saw him win the golden boot for the past two seasons. The French striker now looks set for a change in career path, which looks likely to see him link up with Brendan Rodgers once again.
Edouard will face tough competition for a starting place should he join the Foxes next season. Kelechi Iheanacho was in deadly form at the back end of the 2020/21 season. He scored 11 goals in the final 12 Premier League games, making him undroppable from the side.
Could Brendan Rodgers have Edouard in mind as a replacement for Jamie Vardy? The Leicester legend did scored 15 Premier League goals last season, although eight of them were penalties. At 34-years-old, Vardy is certainly past his prime, and fans may be wondering how long Vardy can keep competing at this level.
Busy Summer of Spending at Leicester
Odsonne Edouard looks set to be one of several incomings at Leicester this summer. Fellow Frenchman Boubakary Soumare will also be a Leicester player next season, having agreed to join from Lille. Soumare started 32 games, as Lille surprisingly won the French Ligue 1 last season.
Leicester are also reportedly in talks to sign free agent Ryan Bertrand. The 31-year-old was released by Southampton upon the expiry of his contract last season, and would be a smart squad addition for Rodgers’ side. Leicester are looking to get deals done quickly this summer, as they plan for another push for Champions League football next season.
