Successful Loan Spell Rewarded With Permanent Move

Now former Chelsea centre-back Tomori enjoyed a fruitful six month spell with AC Milan and has now completed his permanent move from London to Milan in a deal worth €28 Million. Milan were hoping for a reduced price for their man due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic and, although Chelsea have declined this, they will allow payments to be made over a longer period as a good will gesture.

Tomori has signed a five year deal with the Rossoneri which means he has committed to the club until 2025.

Impressive Displays

On May 9, Tomori impressed many in football with not only a commanding centre-back display against Juventus where he kept Cristiano Ronaldo quiet but also with his goal in the 3-0 victory.

Tomori moved to Milan initially after being frozen out by then Chelsea manager Frank Lampard who had also managed the player on loan at Derby County in the Championship but Milan boss Stefan Pioli has been very impressed with player and was quick to see the potential he had- therefore triggering the permanent clause.

When Tomori scored against Juventus he became the first Englishman to do so since David Beckham in 2009 and it also contributed to the first away win at Juventus for ten years. Now at Milan, Tomori will hope to realise his potential and become a top defender. With the position Milan are in as a club, too, the defender may be able to look forward to trophies in the next few years.
