Facundo Pellistri is believed to be one of the most talented South Americans out there right now and the Manchester United man is in high demand again ahead of the summer transfer window.
Facundo Pellistri In Potential Loan Move to La Liga This Summer
Alaves Want Facundo Pellistri On Loan Again
The 19-year old featured for Deportivo Alaves on loan during the 2020/21 season and according to Jonathan Shrager, they are among a number of teams in Spain are hoping to tie up a short-term deal for him again ahead of the next campaign.
Pellistri only played 12 times for the club over the course of the season – and made just five starts in total – but they saw what they liked from the Uruguay man and want him again.
However, Alaves will now face competition for his signature and may risk losing him to a rival this summer.
No First-Team Appearance at Old Trafford Yet
He’s yet to make a first-team appearance for his parent club – the Red Devils – but that hasn’t been down to lack of talent. He’s highly regarded, hence why the Red Devils chose to sign him as a youngster from his native Penarol, and has impressed in the reserves for the Manchester side.
Yes, it’s only the reserves, but the player is growing day by day and another loan move can only help him going forward. Up to this point, he has only really challenged himself in his home country. By moving to United, he was able to gain more experience with the club’s style of play via the reserves and is now getting himself more exposure and more football via loans.
At Alaves, he failed to score or assist but 12 appearances in La Liga – the top tier in Spain – can only be beneficial to him. He didn’t struggle either. He may not have featured much, but his stats for dribbling put him amongst the best attacking midfielders and wingers in Europe’s top five leagues.
Good Dribbling Ability As Showcased at Alaves
Pellistri averaged 2.82 completed dribbles per 90 minutes while on loan, demonstrating his good control of the ball along with his pace and willingness to drive forwards, as well as his ability both to attack and to set up his teammates.
He also managed 20.92 pressures per 90 to boot – showing he doesn’t just offer something offensively but is willing to play his part to defend and win the ball back for his teammates.
Although the player didn’t manage to regularly provide an end product, let’s not forget that he is still only young and inexperienced in Europe. Just five La Liga starts so far is barely any game-time, but with every loan spell, and with more playing time under his belt, he is sure to continue to develop and thrive as a player.
Pellistri has no end of suitors anyways and is sure to get some more first-team football on loan this summer. He’s unlikely to break into the United squad so early on in his career but another loan move would be ideal for him. Now, there are several Spanish sides queuing up to bring him to them and he could seemingly have his pick of where he fancies during this summer transfer window.
