Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte looks set to depart the club over the club’s plans to sell several key players this summer, according to Sky Italy.

Antonio Conte Inter Future in Doubt

Antonio Conte Could Exit the Club in the Coming Days

I Nerazzurri are in talks with Conte over the potential sales of key players which would force the manager out of the club. Key players could be sold to focus on the development of young players and improve the financial standing of the club.

Conte has just led Inter to their first Scudetto since 2010 and has one year left on his deal. Now that a Serie A title has been secured, Inter’s owners want to cut 20% of the first team players’ wages and sell players to allow for incomings ahead of next season.

Conte has identified eight players who can not leave if he is to stay at the club. A decision on Conte’s demands is expected by the board in the next two days.

Exit Could Be the Financial Decision Inter Desire

If Antonio Conte was to resign he would no longer receive the €12 million he does annually from the club. Top managers searching for work like Massimilano Allegri and Mauricio Sarri might accept lower earnings and more sales of Inter’s key players.

As highlighted by the club’s involvement in the European Super League plans – Inter are struggling financially. Summer plans could be prioritised for the sake of financial security over being competitive for Italy and Europe’s biggest honours.

The Spark of a Manager Merry Go Round

If Conte were to leave Inter it could be the beginning of a summer where several managers are on the move across Europe. Tottenham are currently looking for a new boss while Real Madrid might be very soon if Zinedine Zidane departs.

Juventus are considering options if they are to sack Andrea Pirlo, with rumours about the position of managers around clubs like Barcelona. Conte’s departure and availability could kick off a period of change among Italy and Europe’s top clubs.
