Loan Trio Remain High Up on AC Milan Transfer Target List

AC Milan Transfer

According to Fabrizio Romano, the loan trio of Chelsea’s Fikayo Tomori, Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz and Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot, all remain AC Milan transfer targets.

AC Milan Transfer Latest: Loan Trio Remain High Up on Their Priority List

Fikayo Tomori is a Given

Romano says Milan are planning to sign Tomori on a permanent deal. Their option to buy from Chelsea is set at 28 million Euros, which is now a no-brainer. Tomori has been integral to Milan’s top-four finish this season.

Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli was placed on the bench by manager Stefano Pioli in favour of Tomori. This speaks levels of Tomori’s play. Romagnoli was not necessarily out of form but dealt with numerous injuries, and Tomori stole the show. Alongside Simon Kjaer, Tomori became a bright spot in Milan’s stingy defence. He helped keep five clean sheets in a row to end the season, which played a major role in Milan cementing a Champions League spot and finishing second.

Tomori even scored a goal versus Juventus a couple of weeks ago in Milan’s dominant win. He convinced the management that he is the club’s present and future at centre-back.

Brahim Diaz and Diogo Dalot

Diaz arrived in Milan with plenty of fanfare and stood out towards the end of the season. In 27 Serie A appearances, Diaz scored four goals and provided four assists and in eight Europa League appearances, he scored three times. Diaz can play as an attacking midfielder and on the wing, making him very versatile. In addition, he is an ideal substitute if Hakan Calhanoglu is not performing.

Milan do not have a pre-negotiated option to buy with Real Madrid. Diaz’s performances this season may also convince Los Blancos that he’s a piece for the future. Now, of course, nothing is decided yet. Romano believes a final decision will be coming soon.

Dalot has had his ups and downs, but he is a fantastic depth option. The Portuguese fullback can play on both sides of the pitch and is solid going forward. With this being said, he is not really a necessity for Milan. Davide Calabria is the clear starter at right-back, meaning Dalot would remain relegated to the bench. Of course, depth is always important, especially with Milan now playing in the Champions League.

In 28 Serie A appearances, Dalot has a goal and an assist. In the Europa League, he has one goal and two assists in 10 appearances. Now, of course, offensive statistics are not as important for a defender, but this shows what Dalot can provide. Furthermore, it is no secret that Pioli prefers attacking-minded fullbacks. Like Diaz, Milan are yet to make a final decision.
