Talks have been ongoing over a potential takeover for some time now but the saga appears to be reaching its conclusion, with Sheikh Khaled expected to take ownership of the Championship side.
It’s good news for the club and its fans, as they’ve had to work under some restrictions due to the ongoing takeover.

For starters, the future management of the club has been uncertain, with Wayne Rooney placed in charge when Phillip Cocu was sacked.
The former Manchester United man is still registered as a player, too, but once the takeover is finalised, he is likely to be handed the reigns permanently according to these reports.
Also, the completion of any takeover will mean the club can actively find and recruit players again.
Derby can’t sign any players at the moment, as they have been placed under a transfer embargo, which in turn came down to the fact that players and executives were not paid last month.
Derby Can Complete Transfers Once Takeover is Complete
The penalty for non-payment was a transfer embargo, but with the numbers sorted and the takeover set to go ahead, it means that players will be paid what they are owed once the takeover is complete. This also means that they can finally utilise the current transfer window and bring in any players they need.
With all conditions and funds in check and everything seemingly okay with the Derby County takeover, it means that the long-standing bid will finally be completed and could be announced this week, with the report claiming it could be done by Wednesday.
It’s positive news then for Rams fans and means they can kick on and try and push away from the relegation places in the latter half of the season.
