The Defender Brings Tremendous Experience to Club and Country
Evans was already a hugely experienced top-flight defender prior to joining Leicester. The 32-year-old made his Manchester United debut in 2008, making 196 appearances for the Red Devils.
The defender joined West Bromwich Albion in August 2015 and made a further 96 appearances for the Baggies before his switch to current club Leicester.
Evans has enjoyed considerable success with the Foxes and has racked up 89 appearances in all competitions for the club over the course of his two-and-a-half-year stay to date. The defender has also continued to feature prominently on the international stage, where he has made 84 appearances and scored four goals for his country.
Evans Is ‘Delighted’ to Be Staying at Leicester
Fresh from signing his contract extension, Evans spoke to LCFC TV to share his joy: “I’m absolutely delighted to have signed. I’m delighted to commit myself to the club, and delighted the club have committed themselves to me,” said the former Royal Antwerp loanee.
“I’ve loved it here since the first day I came in. It’s a great atmosphere around the place and it’s a club with a lot of ambition. The players are ambitious and the signings that they’ve made over the years, they’ve signed young, hungry players and it’s been great for me to come in alongside that and be a part of it,” Evans added.
So far this season, Evans has played 15 times for the Foxes, who currently sit third in the Premier League and have qualified for the last-32 of the Europa League.
