Tottenham left-back Ryan Sessegnon is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur as part of a loan deal before the transfer window shuts. David Ornstein of the Athletic reported that the availability of the England Under-21 international has sparked interest amongst a number of clubs, who will now battle it out before October’s deadline.
The addition of Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid means that the 20-year-old has dropped further down the pecking order. A loan deal would most certainly suit the North London club, who will be looking for a suitor who can provide regular first-team action in the top tier.

Premier League and European Interest in Ryan Sessegnon Loan Deal
Speculation over Ryan Sessegnon is far and wide. Brighton & Hove Albion and Southampton, of the Premier League, and Hertha Berlin, of the Bundesliga, have all openly expressed their interest in the left-back. Whilst Leeds United are also somewhat monitoring his situation at Spurs.
Ajax are another side attracted to the possibility of taking Sessegnon on loan. The Dutch champions would only make a move if current left-back Nicolas Tagliafico exits the club. The Argentine full-back was linked with a move to Chelsea, but with the Blues signing Ben Chilwell, it seems that a transfer to West London is off the cards.
Negotiation Complications
Under the guidance of Daniel Levy, Spurs are a club who will always look to negotiate a ‘perfect’ deal. Although their approach has meant missing out on top targets and keeping players that were no longer part of the club’s plans, it has brought great success for the club.
It seems that Tottenham will approach the Sessegnon situation in the same manner. It is reported that most of the clubs interested in the 20-year-old would like an option to buy included. However, this is something Spurs would prefer not to grant. Sessegnon is very much central to Tottenham’s future plans and would not be allowed to leave that easy.
Another issue lies in Spurs’ demand for a loan fee and full coverage of Sessegnon’s salary. It seems for the clubs interested in the England U21 international, they might all find it difficult to strike a deal.
