After six prosperous years at Barcelona, Luis Suárez has officially completed a move away from the Camp Nou to title rivals Atletico Madrid. The 33-year-old arrives for a reported fee of £5.5 million.
The move is currently subject to his medical and the agreement and formalisation of his contract with the club.
He now has the chance to become the thorn in Barcelona’s side rather than the underappreciated hero he was for so many years. Under Simeone, too, Suárez will only continue to take La Liga by storm.

Leaving Behind a Legendary Legacy
Four league titles, two Spanish Super Cups, one Champions League, one Club World Cup, one Uefa Super Cup, four Spanish Cups and 198 goals later, and Luis Suárez’s time at Barcelona has come to an end. That list alone proves the great legacy in which he leaves behind.
The often controversial yet world-class Uruguayan forward may well go down as the best number nine of his generation, and will certainly take his place in the Barcelona history books. His tally of 308 goal involvements in 283 games is an astonishing figure and one only a player of Suárez’s ability is capable of providing.
Despite his age, Suárez will undoubtedly provide Atletico Madrid with that extra prowess needed to reach greater heights under Diego Simeone.

The former Liverpool forward comes in as a replacement for Alvaro Morata, who has moved away from Atletico to re-join former club Juventus on loan.
With Morata out of the picture, Suarez will compete alongside Diego Costa to be the main man in Simeone’s line-up.
