Following the completion of deals for Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Martinez, Aston Villa have made their third signing of the summer with the arrival of Bertrand Traore. The 25-year-old arrives on a reported figure of £17 million, plus add ons, signing a four-year deal.
His arrival signifies clear Aston Villa plans to do more than survive this season. They have shown ambition through the transfer market to become a mid-table club and a constant feature in the Premier League for years to come.

The End of Any Goalscoring Woes
Last season was a nightmare for Aston Villa in front of goal. Summer signing Wesley netted just the five Premier League goals before picking up a season-ending injury. Mbwana Samatta then arrived in January before scoring once in 14 Premier League appearances.
An attacking revamp was needed, and it has been delivered. Ollie Watkins could bring 15 goals a season, while Traore could be the man to supply him. Aston Villa have got themselves an attack worthy of Premier League survival and much much more.
What Was Said?
After securing the new signing, Dean Smith said: “We’re delighted that Bertrand has chosen to come to Villa. He’s a player with immense talent who will really enhance our attacking options.”
Bertrand Traore then told the club website: “I’m very happy to join Aston Villa.”
“I’m happy to be here.
“I played with JT at Chelsea, I spoke to him.
“I spoke to the Manager, spoke with the Sporting Director as well and some players I used to play with – Nakamba and El Ghazi.
“I spoke to Nakamba, I talked to him a little bit about the club.
“Many things made me take the decision to come here.
“I’m happy.”
The new arrival will want to make himself at home as soon as possible as he prepares to make his Aston Villa debut.
