Bird and Sibley the Future of Derby

Both players, as previously mentioned, are in a promising position to play a crucial role in both the present and future of Derby. Now, the objective will be to take Derby to the play-offs.

The attacking talent of Sibley, in particular, could see him become the main man at Derby. The midfielder scored 10 goals last season and registered a further nine assists. For a 19-year-old, those numbers are incredible. His talent is clear for all to see, but, it is about how Derby utilise it as they aim for the heights of promotion.

What Was Said?

After putting pen to paper, Bird told the club website, “I have been at this club since I was ten years old and I am delighted to get this contract signed.

“I took steps in the right direction last season and now I want to continue in that way and cement my place in the team.”

He then went on to say: “I want to keep developing my game, become more of a leader on and off the pitch and help the team to challenge at the top end of the table.”

Sibley, too, had the following to say: “I grew up supporting the club, so I am really happy to sign this new contract.

“I just want to continue to work hard and push myself to remain part of the team. I want to be a key player and after signing this new contract, it is time to kick on again.”
