EFL Experience

While he is yet to play in the Championship, midfielder Sheaf has had experience of playing in the EFL before. He played ten times for Stevenage in their 2017/18 League Two campaign and spent time at Doncaster Rovers in League One last season, playing 24 times in total.

His performances last season helped Doncaster to earn a ninth-place finish in the third tier – just six points shy of a play-off place, which they could have earnt had the season reached its full conclusion.

Time at Arsenal

Sheaf made his debut for Arsenal back in 2017, replacing Francis Coquelin late on in a Europa League victory against Red Star Belgrade.

He made one other appearance that season in the Carabao Cup and featured once for the U21 side in last season’s EFL Trophy.

What Was Said?

Upon Sheaf’s arrival at the club, Coventry manager Mark Robins told the club website: “We’re very pleased to announce Ben’s arrival at the club.

“He’s a player with great pedigree and ability, who will really add to our squad for the Championship season ahead.

“He’s got a good physical presence and a footballing brain as well, and will be a real asset for us during the campaign.

“We thank Arsenal for agreeing to loan Ben to us, and look forward to working with him.”
