Liverpool right-back Neco Williams has signed a new long- term contract with the club as confirmed by the club’s official website.

New Deal a Deserved One

Williams is currently at the Reds’ pre-season training base in Austria and has committed his long term future at Anfield.

The Wales Under-19 international, for whom he has scored four goals in just eight appearances, told Liverpoolfc.com: “It feels amazing. At the minute for me, I think there is no better place to learn and to become a better player than being here and working with the lads. I think we’ve got some of the best players in the world and we’re one of the best teams in the world.”

The youngster particularly impressed with his performances at the back end of the season as Jurgen Klopp rested regular first-team players in order to give fringe players, like Williams, more top-flight exposure.

His six Premier League appearances were enough to earn him a medal at the end of the season. The Welshman joined in on the celebrations as the Reds  ended a three-decade wait for domestic glory.

More to Come

With Liverpool preparing to defend their title as well as fighting on all fronts for domestic and European cup glory, Klopp will undoubtedly be prepared to utilise the full depths of his squad in order to obtain success.

Williams could well see his role elevated markedly during the 2020/21 season.
