Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the signing of Matija Sarkic on a free transfer.
The 23-year-old has signed a three-year deal at Molineux, and joins from Midlands rivals Aston Villa.

Highly-Rated
Sarkic was highly-rated by Villa, but was not given the opportunity of first-team action.
The 23-year-old spent the majority of his time out on loan while at Villa Park. He spent the first half of last season on loan at Scottish Premier League side Livingston, keeping six clean sheets in 14 appearances.
Sarkic has also spent time on loan at Wigan Athletic and in non-league.
He had signed a short-term deal with Dean Smith’s Villa until the end of this season; however, the option to extend it was not taken up.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Wolves believe that he is capable of taking over from Rui Patricio, the current Wolves number one. While the 32-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down, it is clear that Wolves are already thinking about the future.
However, he will not be around Nuno Espirito Santo’s first-team squad straight away. Instead, he will head out on loan, with several clubs reportedly interested.
Speaking about his new signing, Jeff Shi, Wolves chairman, said: “We are very happy to welcome Matija, who is a promising young goalkeeper with lots of potential. We hope that he will be a success at Wolves and with his loan club next season.”
Disappointing End of the Premier League Season?
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side had a disappointing end to the season, losing 2-0 away to Chelsea.
It means that their Europa League place remains in the balance. Should Arsenal win the FA Cup, then Wolves will not be in the competition next season. However, if the Gunners lose, then Wolves will enter at the same stage they did last July.
