Brighton & Hove Albion Complete Deal For Adam Lallana

Brighton and Hove Albion have completed the signing of Adam Lallana on a free transfer. The 32-year-old has signed a three-year contract.

The midfielder, who left the Premier League champions, Liverpool, last week following the title celebrations joins the Seagulls ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

The former England and Southampton man completed his medical and has since been unveiled as the South Coast club’s new number 14.

Emotional Farewell

The 32-year-old who made 15 appearances in the Reds title-winning campaign posted a picture of himself holding his new club shirt on Instagram. In the post, Lallana said he ‘couldn’t be more excited’ ahead of a new chapter in his career.

Lallana left Liverpool after arriving in 2014 from his boyhood club Southampton. He went on to play 178 games for the club – scoring 22 goals, the last of which came in the shape of a dramatic late equaliser at Old Trafford.

It was an emotional farewell from Anfield as Lallana departed having seemingly become a popular member of the setup of the champions, particularly close friends with Jordan Henderson, both players have spoken in glowing terms about one another in recent days.

His impressive CV now boasts the Premier League title, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup, an invaluable wealth of experience which is sure to be beneficial to the Brighton squad next season.

Brighton fans can look forward to seeing the technically gifted midfielder at the AMEX next season.

Speaking to the Brighton & Hove Albion website, manager Graham Potter said: “There is no doubting Adam’s quality, and if you look at his footballing CV his ability is clear for everyone to see.

“He has played at the very highest level, for both club and country, and achieved great things. He has a wealth of experience alongside his technical quality.

“The honours he won during his time at Liverpool, and the high regard in which he is held at Anfield, only further underline his ability and character.

“Adam is a really exciting signing for us, someone I am sure the supporters will be really looking forward to seeing play as and when things are able to begin to return to normal.”
