Swindon Town have made their first summer signing by bagging Diallang Jaiyesimi on a permanent deal. The striker spent last season on loan at the County Ground from Norwich City, helping Swindon achieve promotion to League One.
Jaiyesimi’s arrival begins Swindon’s recruitment drive as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new League One season.

The Striker Arrives From Norwich City
Swindon announced via their website they had re-signed the striker. Jaiyesimi arrives as Swindon’s first summer signing and has signed a three-year deal at the County Ground. He arrives on a free transfer after being released by Norwich City.
Jaiyesimi made 21 appearances as he helped Swindon achieve promotion to League One. He scored five goals and assisted one during his first season at the club. Injuries have hit his career hard and his time at Swindon has been no different. He suffered a freak injury which saw him miss two months of the season.
But, he recovered brilliantly from that setback and became a key figure in the team. Richie Wellens regularly dropped him into the number ten role and this proved to be effective. Jaiyesimi began to run at defences and create chances for his teammates. He is a vital player for the Robins and is certainly someone who can adapt to how Richie Wellens wants to play.
Jaiyesimi Buzzing to Be Back
Speaking to the Swindon website about his return, Jaiyesimi said: “I’m buzzing to finally get it done. I feel this is the best option for me in the next steps of my career.”
“Last season was my best in terms of what I achieved and how I was playing – it was a good experience for me and winning the league made that even better.”
“There were a few teams that were interested but I trust the Gaffer. He told me his plans and I’ve been there with him already and I know what he’s like, so I think he’s the best Gaffer to work under for me and my development.”
