Young midfielder Elliot Watt has joined Bradford City on a two-year-long deal after running down his contract at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Watt is leaving Wolves after joining at the age of 16 from Blackburn Rovers. He rose through the ranks at Molineux to make his first-team debut last in 2018.
The former Wolves player has already built a budding reputation for both club and country, earning three caps for Scotland U21s. As captain of Wolves U23s, he helped guide them to promotion and will be looking to achieve a similar feat with Bradford City.

Loan at Carlisle
Watt spent half of last season on loan at Carlisle United, making 14 appearances and scoring one goal. The player has developed a knack for set pieces and helped the Cumbrians to an 18th-place finish. Describing himself as a creative player before the loan move, Watt is most comfortable when on the ball and making decisive passes.
He returned to Wolves at the end of the season.
What Can Bradford Expect?
The youngster is a confident player that has glowing references from his previous clubs. However, he is yet to complete a full season in a first-team set up. Therefore, we are likely to see him feature as a squad player. Watt will have to earn his right to a starting berth, which could benefit both parties as this will improve competition within the squad.
He is described as somewhat of a deep-laying playmaker with deft footballing ability, which will complement Bradford manager Stuart McCall’s style of play, as well as being a set-piece specialist which has been lacking in the Bantam’s squad. Also, being only 20-years-old, his high level of energy will be an asset within League Two’s rigorous nature.
As a mostly untested quantity, Elliot Watt looks very promising but will need to work hard to impress the Bantam’s fans as they set their sights on promotion.
