Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 37+ Preview

Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 37+ commences tomorrow with the penultimate round of the premier league season. This gameweek is a very tricky one to navigate with the FA Cup semifinals taking place right in the middle. Read on to find out how to tackle gameweek 37+.

Quick Tips

Gameweek 37+ starts with the match between Norwich City and Burnley at Carrow Road on Saturday and finishes with the Liverpool and Chelsea match on Wednesday night. However, Manchester CityArsenalManchester United and Chelsea have FA Cup semifinals on the weekend. So, these four teams will play twice during this gameweek and a third time next Sunday to complete the premier league season. Hence, it is probably wise not to bring any players from these teams in.

Goalkeepers

Nick Pope and Dean Henderson are the top two goalkeepers in terms of FPL points this season. Both of them have solid clean sheet chances this round.

Rui Patricio faces a Crystal Palace side that seems to have given up on this season. A clean sheet is very much possible for the Portuguese shot-stopper.

Aston Villa will be desperate for the three points so Emiliano Martínez might make a lot of saves at Villa Park. Arsenal have two nice looking fixtures to end the season as well.

Defenders

Burnley defenders should do well at Norwich City. However, they will be without Charlie Taylor to add to their injury woes. The Clarets are already without Ben Mee and Matt Lowton. So, it will be a decimated Burnley side that takes on the already-relegated Norwich City. One could consider bringing in Phil Bardsley, Kevin Long or Erik Pieters as a cheap option. Burnley also have a nice home fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion to end the season with so one will have two shots at a clean sheet.

Matt Doherty was benched in the last round yet he came up with an assist to satisfy his FPL owners. A good-looking home fixture against Crystal Palace should see him return a decent haul this gameweek.

Sheffield United have a decent home fixture against Everton so their defenders should be considered. John Egan has looked dangerous in the box recently with two goals in the last four matches.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has not done too well in the last few matches. He will be up against a tired Chelsea side who have issues at the back. This could be a good chance to generate some FPL points.

Midfielders

As always, Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial are the first two midfielders to be spoken about. They are both doing so well. It seems unlikely that either will be rested with Manchester United fighting for a Champions League spot with Chelsea and Leicester City. West Ham United will put up a decent fight though.

It is probably too late for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane to catch Jamie Vardy in the race for the golden boot but they will still want to score a goal or two in their last home game.

Just like the last gameweek, Manchester City have a great fixture this gameweek also. However, the FA cup semifinal complicates things. Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, and Riyad Mahrez were all benched against Bournemouth. One can only pray that their Manchester City starts at Watford. At this moment, there is no way one can tell who will start at Vicarage Road on Tuesday just three days after the FA Cup Semifinal against Arsenal.

Strikers

Chris Wood scored twice against Norwich City earlier in the season. Considering the amount of chances the Canaries give up to the opposition strikers, Wood could be a good option.

Marcus Rashford has hit form just at the right moment for Manchester United. His price might be a bit too high for some so Mason Greenwood could provide the solution.

Jamie Vardy was quite impressive against Sheffield United. In fact, he was unlucky not to score as he hit the post and also had Dean Henderson make a few saves to deny him. Vardy will try to add to his tally to secure the golden boot. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Danny Ings are the closest contenders for it. They both have decent fixtures at relegation-threatened teams. Both Bournemouth and Aston Villa will go for the win which might present chances for Ings and Aubameyang.

Gabriel Jesus has been doing well lately. If given the start, he should do well at Watford.

Raúl Jiménez is one of the most consistent players in the league. After a barren run of four matches, the Mexican has scored in both of his last two. He should fancy himself to add to his 17-goal tally at home to Crystal Palace. Wolverhampton Wanderers will need the three points to secure Europa League football for next season.
