Leyton Orient Complete Permanent Signing of Ouss Cisse

Ouss Cisse

League Two side Leyton Orient have completed the permanent signing of midfielder Ouss Cisse. The Mali international spent the second half of the 2019/20 campaign on loan with the O’s from Gillingham but has now sealed a permanent move to East London on a two-year contract.

Cisse’s Delight at Returning

Twenty-nine-year-old Cisse played ten games for Orient in 2020 and quickly became a fan favourite. He also notched one goal, turning home a scrappy finish in the 3-0 win at Stevenage back in February.

Speaking to the club website, he expressed his delight at being able to return to the club.

He said: “I’m delighted to be back. I came here in January and had a really good time, so when I had the opportunity to come back I said yes straight away.

“The confidence from the club and the Head Coach is really important to me, and that everyone here liked me.

“From my first game at home the fans loved me, and I loved them as well. I’ve received many messages on my Insta and Twitter, but I couldn’t say anything as I wanted to keep it a surprise.

“I hope they’ll be buzzing, but none so more than me, because I’m so delighted to be here.”

Cisse’s Career

Cisse started his career in France with Amiens before making the move to Dijon.

A move to Spain with Rayo Vallecano followed, but after a loan spell in Belgium, he returned to France to sign for Tours.

After just one season, he made the move to England to sign for MK Dons. He spent two years with the club, being part of the team that won promotion from League Two in 2018/19.

A move to Gillingham did not pan out as hoped for the midfielder, but this now-permanent move to Orient could continue the revitalisation of his career that the O’s provided before.
