A Versatile Youngster
Dolan featured against Blackburn twice this season – once in the Lancashire FA Senior Cup semi-final and again in the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup. He shone both times and scored in the latter game.
His career began with Manchester City before moving on to Preston in 2017 and he has been a regular scorer during his time as a scholar at the club.
Dolan is able to play anywhere across the front line – on the wings or behind the main striker.
This deal with Blackburn is his first professional contract and runs until the summer of 2022.
What Was Said?
Speaking to the club website about the move, Dolan said: “It’s a dream come true to sign my first professional deal at a club as big as Blackburn Rovers.
“The hard work continues, so I just can’t wait to get my feet going again, hit the ground running and show everyone what I can do.
“For me, my preferred position is as a number 10, but I can play on the wings as well. I’m a direct player, with confidence, and I just like to get the ball, express myself, enjoy my football and show everyone what I can do.
“This break has made me even more eager to get going again with football. I talk to my dad about setting visions and goals, and here at Rovers I’ve got the highest expectations. The history of the club is amazing, with some great players coming through the system, and I’m willing to work hard to be one of those players.”
Trio Pen New Deals
Blackburn have also been boosted by the news that Luke Brennan has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The 18-year-old has signed a two-year deal that will see him through until the summer of 2022.
As well, Ben Paton and Brad Lyons have signed the one-year deals that they agreed with the club last month. Both run until 2021.
