Attacked Outside Relative’s Home
The former England U21 international was in the Toxteth area of the city visiting a relative when the attack took place – only hours after featuring for the Rams in a 2-1 win over Reading at Pride Park on Saturday afternoon.
After getting out of his car, he was approached by a man with a knife who, after stabbing him more than once, robbed him.

The club has released a statement saying: “Andre Wisdom has been the victim of an unprovoked assault and robbery. He sustained injuries which resulted in him being admitted to hospital.”
He is expected to make a full recovery.
Former Liverpool Starlet
Leeds-born Wisdom came through the academy at Liverpool making 14 league appearances for the Reds before making a permanent switch to Derby in the summer of 2017.
The robust defender also turned out for West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City and Red Bull Salzburg during loan spells whilst under contract at Anfield. He achieved his only major career honours to date at the latter, picking up Austrian Bundesliga and Austrian Cup medals during the 2016/17 season.
Wisdom has also featured for England at various age levels. He played twice for the U16s and 15 times for the U17, where he scored three goals.
He has also played ten games each for the U19s and the U21s, where he played at the 2013 U21 European Championships.
