Following lengthy talks, Willian and Pedro have both agreed to short-term extensions to their contracts at Chelsea, Matt Law reports. Frank Lampard can rely on them as Chelsea look to remain in the Champions League places.

No Longer Playing it Safe
Doubts were cast over the immediate futures of the two Chelsea men, whose contracts are set to expire this summer. Both have possible moves on the table and will have been hoping not to ruin their chances of a move away by getting injured.
However, they have now committed to play for Chelsea when called upon for the remainder of the prolonged season.
What They Offer The Blues
Pedro Rodriguez has seen a lot less game time since Frank Lampard’s appointment as manager. Last season, he made 31 appearances in the Premier League alone. He has featured just 18 times in all competitions this campaign. Though, he has made 201 appearances for Chelsea to date and holds vital experience should Lampard need to call on it.
Willian hasn’t been as limited as Pedro has been. He’s retained his place in the Chelsea team since Maurizio Sarri’s departure. The Brazilian has made 38 appearances across all competitions already this season. Willian has contributed to ten Premier League goals for Chelsea this campaign, with five goals and five assists.
Chelsea are still in the FA Cup too, so the more options available to them, the better.

Willian’s future is unclear, compared to Pedro’s.
Pedro is set to join Serie A side Roma after agreeing terms on a free transfer ahead of the next transfer window.
However, Frank Lampard has said he wants Willian to stay at the club. Despite that, the Brazilian winger rejected Chelsea’s advances before lockdown. It’s claimed Willian rejected a two-year deal, as the 31-year-old wanted to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge for three-years.
Arsenal and Tottenham have been interested in signing Willian, though have both been affected by the financial consequences of the coronavirus crisis.
