Committing to Bayern Munich
Although Davies’ contract was not to run out until 2023, a strong second season in Germany has led to a further two-year extension for the player.
Since joining the Bundesliga giants in July 2018, Davies has been an important member of the side, making 43 appearances.
He has found a new position at left-back this campaign and thrived there, with extremely impressive performances against both Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea in the Champions League this season.
CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told the club website: “Alphonso has developed very well at FC Bayern and has earned this contract extension with his impressive performances. We are happy that he will remain with FC Bayern in the long term.
“He delights our fans not only with the way he plays but also with the way he is off the pitch.”
