REPORT: Dejan Lovren Could Leave Liverpool

Dejan Lovren is considering a move away from Liverpool with four London clubs interested, according to Teamtalk.

This season, Lovren has often played third choice to Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez, who’ve both enjoyed terrific seasons. Jurgen Klopp is reportedly not going to force him to stay and sit on the Reds’ bench due to the service he’s given to the club.

Competition For His Signing

Arsenal, West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Crystal Palace are all thought to be interested in the Croatian. Clubs in Italy, Spain, Germany in France are all thought to have made approaches. However, Lovren is thought to be keen on a move to the capital.

Joel Matip is set to stay at Anfield, while Fabinho and Jordan Henderson could potentially cover in the event of an injury crisis. Klopp will sign a replacement, according to reports.

An Experienced Head

The 30-year-old will add a wealth of experience to whoever to whichever team he joins. Lovren has chalked up 402 career appearances and has represented his country 57 times.

The centre-back first came to England in 2013, when he joined Southampton from French side, Lyon. Lovren enjoyed a fantastic debut season with the Saints. He was an integral part of a defence that kept 15 Premier League clean sheets, resulting in an eighth-placed finish. His impressive form prompted Liverpool to make a move for him, and he became a Red just a year after arriving in England.

The Croatian didn’t have an easy start to life on Merseyside, and he received criticism from a large section of Liverpool’s fanbase due to his early performances. But since then, he’s become a part of this all-conquering Reds outfit, winning the Champions League with them last season. Now, in his sixth season at Anfield, Lovren has made nine league appearances for the Reds, scoring once.
