Manchester United Believe They Have Won the Race for Jude Bellingham
Impressive for Birmingham City
Since becoming the youngest player to ever appear for Birmingham City, Bellingham has shown class and maturity for the blues. He has four goals and three assists in the Championship for them this season, but goal involvements are only the surface of Bellingham’s contribution to Birmingham this season.
Not only will he almost certainly make them a £30 million transfer fee in the summer, but he has also been a commanding influence in their midfield. He plays as a central midfielder, but the Englishman also has the versatility to push forwards into attacking midfield, or even as a second striker, and can also play on either wing, making him such a great asset. Furthermore, to play with the amount of maturity he does, and look so experienced, at the age of just 16 is incredible.
Birmingham will greatly miss him in the summer, when he is almost certain to be leaving the West Midlands side.
European Interest
Almost every big team in Europe has joined, or attempted to join, the race for Bellingham’s signature. He is hot property right now, with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Liverpool only a handful of the many clubs going after him. However, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund seem the favourites, and both have very attractive offers.
Dortmund have recently obtained a reputation for nurturing youth. Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho are two who are thriving there right now, but the list of great players who have made it onto the scene there goes on. BVB would be one of the best career choices for Bellingham, should he be looking to go on to be one of the best players in the world.
United, however, are also an intriguing prospect, and another fantastic option. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s faith in youth means that Bellingham would be sure to get lots of game-time, something which is vital for his development. Furthermore, Michael Carrick is just one of the many incredible coaches that the 16-year-old would get the opportunity to work alongside, the dream of most at his age. The first-team breakouts of Mason Greenwood and Brandon Williams this season are proof that the system put into place by Solskjaer is working, and Bellingham could join a team that is showing a lot of promise. United believe that they have won the race for Bellingham’s services, and could see him be among a host of incoming transfers in the summer window.
