The Interview

Soteldo spoke about the up and coming Venezuelan national team for much of his interview. He said that he is confident that they will qualify top of their group for the Qatar World Cup in 2022, and that he believes they can fight even further than that. Following this, he spoke of his aspirations to one day play for a big team in Europe. The question is, does he have what it takes?

Who is Yeferson Soteldo, Dreaming of a Manchester United Move?

Having played, and impressed in both the Venezuelan and Chilean first divisions, Soteldo earned himself a move to Brazilian side Santos. There, he has enjoyed much first team action. Last season, his first for the club as well, Soteldo made 16 direct goal involvements, 10 goals and 6 assists. He was their third highest scorer, and joint second top assist maker, helping Santos to a second place finish much improved on their tenth place in the season prior.

Soteldo has shown great promise while in Brazil, and has demonstrated his potential to become a fantastic player. His comments in his interview became specified to Manchester United when he opened up about his dream to play there one day.

Previous Interest

Before he moved to Santos, Soteldo was linked with a surprise move to Tottenham. Spurs were preparing a bid in the region of £15 million pounds. This, however, never materialized, and he joined his current, Brazilian side for roughly a fifth of that.

How He Could Fit for United

While this move is still a long shot, it is not impossible. United are looking to improve their squad, and build one out of youth, making Yeferson Soteldo a great fit as a Manchester United transfer.
