Career So Far

Grosicki started his career in his native Poland with hometown club Pogon Szczecin, where he made 23 appearances and scored two goals.

He then completed a move to Legia Warsaw before having loan spells with French club Sion and Polish club Jagiellonia.

After completing a permanent move to the latter, he scored ten times in 45 matches before leaving for Turkish club Sivasspor. Here, he appeared 90 times and scored 14 goals.

Grosicki then moved back to France to sign for Rennes before making the move to England to join Hull in 2017.

The highest number of appearances for any club in his career came at Hull, playing 118 times for the Tigers and scoring on 24 occasions.

Already this season, the winger has seven goals and five assists, and he has been the most productive midfielder in the Championship since the start of 2019 with 14 goals and 13 assists.

As well as his domestic experience, Grosicki has featured 73 times for his country, scoring 13 times.

What Was Said

Speaking to the club website about the move, West Brom’s sporting and technical director, Luke Dowling, said: “We tried hard to get Callum in the summer but he understandably didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to play in the Premier League.

“As soon as the opportunity to take him in this window cropped up, it was something that we wanted to do straight away.

“So did 90 per cent of the other Championship clubs but I think Callum’s awareness of our interest in the summer was a big factor in our favour.

“He can play wide as we saw in his Preston role but also centrally, as has proved the case at Sheffield United.

“Kamil is one of the most consistent players I have seen. He’s always a seven out of 10 guy who will give you a nine as well. He’s exactly the type of player we want to be adding at this stage and as soon as he heard of our interest, there was nowhere else he wanted to come.

“He’s got great experience and is still an important member of his national squad with the Euros ahead in the summer.”
