Transfer Rumours: Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester United and More
Raheem on Real’s Radar
As Dani Gil reports for Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid are interested in signing Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling. With claims from Pep Guardiola that Sterling could be on the level of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Sterling may seek a new contract at City. He only renewed his contract in November last year, but may well seek to discuss terms again soon after a brilliant start to the season. Though Sterling may look to join Madrid in the future, for now he seems happy enough under Guardiola’s tutelage.
Maddison Piques Liverpool’s Interest
According to Jack Staplehurst of The Daily Star, Liverpool are keeping an eye on Leicester City attacker James Maddison. The English midfielder created the most chances in the Premier League last year, and his stock continues to rise this year. At just 22, he is far from the finished product, and Jurgen Klopp may see him as someone to develop into a star of world football. Maddison could even prove to be the long-term replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who departed for Barcelona in January last year.
Manchester United Transfer Rumours
Samuel Luckhurst of Manchester Evening News writes that Manchester United will prioritise the signing of Sean Longstaff and Erling Haaland this January. Longstaff even claimed himself that he thought he would be joining United this summer, only to stay at Newcastle United for the time being.
Haaland is a young forward who has shone this season, scoring a hat-trick against Genk for Red Bul Salzburg in the Champion’s League. After scoring 17 goals in ten games this season, the 19-year-old has the tongues of Europe’s biggest clubs wagging. If he made the move to the Premier League, he would follow in the footsteps of his father Alf Inge; the Norwegian defender plied his trade for Leeds and Manchester City.
Havertz Chase Hots Up
Etienne Fermie of The Sun writes that three Premier League giants are vying for the signature of Kai Havertz of Leverkusen. The 20-year-old midfielder scored 17 goals for the German side last season, and now interest in him is hotting up. Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all credited with an interest in the hot German prospect. Leverkusen rate him at £90 million, and German sides Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also on his trail. It could turn out that Havertz becomes Dortmund’s replacement for Jadon Sancho, one of the world’s hottest prospects.
Aurier on Way Out at Spurs?
Teamtalk are reporting that AC Milan have joined the race to sign Serge Aurier. The Ivorian full-back was linked with a summer exit from Spurs, to join French side Paris Saint-Germain. However, a move never materialised. Reports in Italy about Milan’s desire to sign Aurier as a replacement for Andrea Conti are increasing. Tottenham Hotspur demanded €25 million for their right-back last summer, they could yet demand a similar fee.
