Arsenal narrowly beat Burnley 2-1 in their first home match of the new season. Loan signing Dani Ceballos tallied the assists for both goals in what was a terrific display on the day for the player.
Dani Ceballos Gets Two Assists in Arsenal Victory
Proving His Value
Ceballos is a player who is known to have a lot of potential. However, while at Real Madrid the midfielder found it difficult to show his skill.
In his full Arsenal debut, Dani Ceballos showed the world what he can do. His two assists highlight his contributions on the day, but he did so much more for his club.
Ceballos led his team with four key passes and kept a passing accuracy rate of 90%. Meanwhile, he also had the most touches on the day of any player on either side with 97.
The way in which he played caught the eye as well. Ceballos pulled off heel flicks, pirouettes and tantalising dribbles in midfield.
Dani Ceballos also contributed defensively with two tackles. Should the 23-year-old continue this fine form, he will be a terror for the opposition to deal with.
Midfield Three Shone
Ceballos was not the only Arsenal midfielder to have a great match. Matteo Guendouzi had a solid match as he completed 94.7% of his passes and made four interceptions.
Joe Willock, meanwhile, completed six long balls on the day and two key passes. The young midfield trio of Ceballos, Willock and Guendouzi was a sight to behold and made a huge contribution to the win.
This is a very hopeful sign for the Gunners with Lucas Torreira not quite ready to start and Granit Xhaka dealing with a minor injury. Should their more experienced midfielders not be available at any point this season, Unai Emery will know he can count on the younger contingent.
Business as Usual for Strikers
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette were responsible for the two goals. The two are among the finest strikers in the Premier League and proved it yet again against Burnley.
Lacazette’s finish is an early candidate for goal of the season. Meanwhile, Aubameyang’s goal was a very impressive strike from outside the box, something he is not known for.
The addition of Nicolas Pepe gives Arsenal more attacking options. However, they will need both of their star strikers firing this season in order to secure Champions League football for next.
They’ve gotten off to a hot start and fans will be hopeful they can continue in the same vein.
