Latest Transfer Rumours
Milan Turn Attentions To Bailly
According to Damian Burchardt of The Sun, AC Milan have turned their attentions to Eric Bailly in the race for a new defender. The Italian side initially inquired about bringing in Dejan Lovren but were put off by their £18 million price tag. The Croatian defender’s wages were also a stumbling block for Milan.
Now the Rossoneri are targeting Eric Bailly of Manchester United. They see him as a cheaper alternative, as he has only a year remaining on his contract. If United complete their much-mooted move for Leicester City defender Harry Maguire, they may have to trim their squad. Bailly was a bit-part player last season, making only 18 appearances in all competitions.
Llorente Eyed by Fiorentina
Simon Jones of Mail Online writes that Fernando Llorente is weighing up a return to the Serie A with Fiorentina. New manager Vincenzo Montella wants to add experience to his attack, and sees the 34-year-old as a good fit. Llorente, on the other hand, is still weighing up his options, even considering another year with Tottenham.
The Spanish striker made 35 appearances last season, scoring eight goals for Spurs. A move to Fiorentina would mark a return to Italy, where he played for two years with Juventus.
Tottenham Target Hands in Transfer Request
Metro sources understand that Giovani Lo Celso has handed in a transfer request amid interest from Tottenham and Manchester United. The attacker only joined Real Betis permanently in April but is now seeking the exit door. Whilst he is currently happy playing at the Andalusian club, he wants to play in a European competition, ideally the Champion’s League.
Betis have accepted the Argentine’s request and will accept offers of £68 million. This asking price is actually below his release clause of £88 million, so Spurs could be interested in the cheaper deal. Lo Celso reportedly prefers a move to London over Manchester. However, Tottenham’s approach will likely hinge on Christian Eriksen departing the club, having already spent £55 million on Tanguy Ndombele.
Barcelona Eyeing Left-Back Options
Santi Giménez of AS claims that Barcelona are eyeing other left-back options, should they fail to sign Junior Firpo of Betis. The Andalusian side would reportedly let him go for €25 million, despite having a release clause of €50 million. However, Barcelona are still unwilling to match their price. They are considering Raphael Guerreiro of Dortmund, and Ricardo Rodríguez of Milan as alternatives.
Guerreiro, a Portugal international, has a year remaining on his contract in Germany. Though, Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in his signature. Dortmund also value him at €25 million, though may have to yield to a lower offer to not risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.
