Latest Transfer Rumours

Arsenal Up Tierney Chase

According to Chris McLaughlin of BBC, Arsenal are upping their chase for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney. The Scottish champions rebuffed their initial offer of £15 million, which Arsenal have reportedly increased to £25 million. This would see the full-back become the most expensive transfer in Scottish football history.

Tierney has only made 9 appearances this year, after suffering a double hernia. However, at just 22, he still has much room to develop. He has made 170 appearances for Celtic, winning four league titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups since making his debut in 2015.

Liverpool Targeting Chalov

Steve Bates of The Mirror claims that Liverpool have joined the list of clubs chasing Russian striker Fedor Chalov. The 21-year-old striker is attracting interest from many a European club, with Manchester City and Bayern Munich amongst his other suitors.

Chalov had a prolific 2018-19 season, scoring 17 goals in 37 appearances for CSKA Moscow. As such, he finished as the top-scorer in the Russian Premier League and could have earned a move to a European giant.

Maguire Reveals Desire To Leave The Club

Joe Bernstein of Mail Online reports that Harry Maguire has told Brendan Rodgers he wants to leave Leicester City. He told the manager and his Foxes teammates of his desire to leave during their pre-season training camp. Leicester were reportedly unwilling to sell unless it became clear that was Maguire’s wish. Now, after this news, his departure could edge ever closer.

This news will be of particular interest to Manchester United, who could now push for a deal to sign the centre-back. The Red Devils refused to meet his £75 million asking price last summer following his World Cup success. Though, after another disappointing campaign, they could part with those funds as part of their rebuild.

Burnley To Swoop For Maehle

As Alan Nixon of The Sun understands, Burnley could be close to signing a new right-back, Joakim Maehle. The Burnley scouts are urging manager Sean Dyche to sign the young Genk star. The 22-year-old Danish defender flourished in the Belgian league last year. He also caught the eye during the Under-21 European Championships.

His teammate at Genk could move to Turf Moor with him. Burnley are reportedly also interested in Ukrainian midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi, who also plies his trade for Genk. The pair could be on their way to Lancashire in a £19 million deal.
