Deadline Day: Manchester City Trio Leave on Loan

Joe Hart, Wilfried Bony and Samir Nasri have all left Manchester City on season-long loans. England goalkeeper Joe Hart has left for Serie A side Torino after weeks of speculation. Bony has had limited first team chances recently and has joined Stoke City on loan to revive his career. Samir Nasri has also left joining La Liga side Sevilla.

Hart joins Torino on loan

England goalkeeper Joe Hart has joined Serie A club Torino after eight years of being Manchester City’s first-choice goalkeeper. The move comes after Manchester City signed Claudio Bravo from Barcelona to replace Hart as City’s number one. The 29-year-old played 348 games for the Manchester club, winning two league titles. The goalkeeper also won an FA Cup and two League Cups with City. Speaking on the move, Hart told Torino’s website: “Torino’s offer came at the right moment for me, in the right manner, and I’m very excited to test myself in an important and beautiful league such as Serie A.” The goalkeeper also described the move as a ‘turning-point’ in his career.

Nasri joins Sevilla on season-long loan

Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has joined La Liga side Sevilla on a season-long loan. The 29-year-old has left after 171 appearances in five seasons for the Manchester club after joining from Arsenal in 2011. The midfielder initially trained alone when Pep Guardiola took over due to problems with his weight. However, the French international has the chance to revive his career at the current Europa League holders. Nasri won five trophies at Manchester City including two Premier League titles. The 29-year-old posted on Twitter it’s been a pleassure thanks to everyone in the club and the fans for the 5 amazing years and wish you best of luck for the season.”

Wilfried Bony joins Stoke on loan

Ivory Coast striker Wilfried Bony has joined Stoke City on loan. The 27-year-old made just fifteen starts in over 18 months at City. Bony scored 35 goals in 70 games for Swansea before he joined Manchester City for 28 million in January 2015. West Ham manager Slaven Bilic was said to be interested in the striker earlier in the week. The Potters have already signed Derby goalkeeper Lee Grant and are in talks with Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi. Stoke manager Mark Hughes. “Bringing Wilfried in was a no-brainer for us, he has power, speed and very good physical attributes.” Bony posted on his twitter  “Thank You to all the MCFC fans for the support & hello to fans I look forward to a great season together”
