Sam Allardyce has been sacked as Everton manager after just six months in the job, the club have confirmed.

Sam Allardyce Sacked
The Englishman was appointed Toffees boss back in November, after they sacked Ronald Koeman following a woeful start to the season. Allardyce took the side, who surprisingly looked set to be caught in a relegation battle, all the way up to an impressive 8th placed finish.
However, his style of play was lost on the fans, who as a result, did not take to him. The 63-year-old also did not see eye to eye with the board, who sent out a survey to the fans asking them to rate his performance without getting his approval to do so first.
Everton have also been eager to sign Marco Silva, so it never really looked like Allardyce had a chance to save his job.
“On behalf of the chairman, board of directors and Mr Moshiri, I’d like to thank Sam for the job he has done at Everton over the last seven months,” read a statement from the club’s soon-to-be new chief executive, Professor Denise Barrett-Baxendale. “Sam was brought in at a challenging time last season to provide us with some stability and we are grateful to him for doing that.
“However, we have made the decision that, as part of our longer-term plan, we will be appointing a new manager this summer and will be commencing this process immediately. Again, we’d like to place on record our sincere thanks to Sam for his work with us over the last few months and wish him well for the future.”
According to reports, Allardyce was not even informed of the decision before the announcement was made. The club made the announcement while the former England boss was at the League Manager’s Association 26th Annual Awards in London.
He was said to be ‘disgusted’ at the club, and said: “I’m shocked, disappointed and disgusted that the football club didn’t have the decency to tell me, my Director of Football and my staff about the changes.
“They must have been in the pipeline for a considerable time but no-one thought to tell me and my staff. I’m pretty disgusted.
“I came into the football club with the team struggling and we have finished 8th in the table. I’m more than happy with what myself, my staff and the players have achieved from when I came in.”
