Relegation Battle: Latest Oxford United Team and Injury News for Vital Visit of Blackburn

Oxford United have some returning players and no new injury concerns ahead of their relegation battle against Blackburn.

As for Rovers, they have several key players missing ahead of this Wednesday night crunch match.

Oxford United Injury News

Tyler Goodrham – Ankle

Academy graduate, Tyler Goodrham has been ruled out for the rest of the season following surgery on his ankle.

Brian De Keersmaecker– Shoulder

Brian De Keersmaecker will also miss the rest of the season after undergoing an operation on his shoulder injury.

Oxford’s Returning Players

Przemyslaw Placheta – Calf

Another potential returnee could be winger, Przemyslaw Placheta. The Pole has been out with a calf problem.

Jamie McDonnell – Ankle

January signing Jamie McDonnell made a return to the bench last time out but will be pushing for minutes against Rovers.

Blackburn Injury News

Sandre Tronstad – ACL

Midfielder Sandre Tronstad has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign after suffering an ACL injury during Blackburn’s defeat against Bristol City last month.

Lewis Miller – ACL

Also out for the remaining fixtures is Australian defender, Lewis Miller. The 25-year-old was forced off during the win over QPR and will miss the upcoming World Cup as a result.

George Pratt – Muscle

Fellow defender George Pratt remains sidelined with a facial injury he sustained during an U21 victory over Birmingham.

Aynsley Pears – Wrist

Goalkeeper Aynsley Pears has been missing with a wrist injury but the former Middlesbrough man is back in training.

Matty Litherland – Hamstring

A hamstring injury sustained on New Year’s Day has ruled Matty Litherland out. The young defender had only played four times in the league.

Ryan Hedges – Broken Leg

Another long-term absentee is Welsh winger, Ryan Hedges. Like Litherland, his last appearance came on New Year’s Day where he broke his leg.

Augustus Kargbo – Calf

Winger Augustus Kargbo is currently recovering from a long-term injury suffered in October. Despite returning to training, he suffered a setback in March and is not expected to be available until after the upcoming international break.

Blackburn’s Returning Players

Todd Cantwell – Foot

Midfielder Todd Cantwell has been sidelined since February after picking up a foot problem, but he could return against the U’s on Wednesday.
