How Wolves Have Lined Up Recently

Wolves secured an impressive 2-1 win over Liverpool in the Premier League earlier this week, with Rodrigo Gomes opening the scoring before André struck a dramatic stoppage-time winner at Molineux. In that match, José Sá started in goal behind a defensive setup featuring Santiago Bueno, Ladislav Krejčí, and Matt Doherty. The wing-back roles were filled by Jackson Tchatchoua and David Møller Wolfe, while João Gomes, Matues Mané, and André operated in midfield.

Further forward, Angel Gomes supported the attack, with striker Adam Armstrong providing the focal point.

Wolves Recent Form & Tactics

Wolves used a 3-5-1-1 system against Liverpool, which allowed them to remain compact defensively while transitioning quickly on the counterattack. That structure proved effective in midweek, as Edwards’ side absorbed pressure before striking late on.

Despite being bottom of the Premier League table, Wolves have shown signs of improvement in recent weeks. They have now picked up several impressive results at Molineux, including victories over Aston Villa and Liverpool.

In this FA Cup clash, Wolves are expected to adopt a similar approach: a disciplined defensive block, energetic wing-back play, and quick transitions through the midfield.

Wolves Team News

During his pre-match press conference, Edwards said that José Sá will be rested due to an ongoing ankle injury. He also had this to say on squad rotation:

“Squad rotation? “It’s hard for me to prioritise either game, now tomorrow is the most important game. We’re in a good spot, apart from André, who is suspended, where everyone is fit and available.”
