The Sky Blues have also hit a poor run of form with Frank Lampard’s side having suffered back-to-back away defeats. Coventry had won their previous two, both at home, but also lost at Birmingham and drew at Charlton in recent weeks. Despite a defeat against Ipswich, the Sky Blues have won 11 of their 14 games at the CBS Arena.
Jamie McDonnell is the latest injury doubt for Oxford who remain without fellow midfielders Brian De Keersmaecker, Jamie Donley and Tyler Goodrham. Nik Prelec and Hidde ter Avest also remain sidelined but there could be a return for Jack Currie. Deadline day signings Ruben Roosken and Aidomo Emakhu will be pushing for a start.
Coventry are without goalkeeper Oliver Dovin and attacker Ephron Mason-Clark but could welcome back defender Kaine Kesler-Hayden from an ankle injury.
The Sky Blues are lethal in attack and boast three players in Brandon Thomas-Asante, Haji Wright and Ellis Simms with ten league goals each.
Oxford earned a credible draw in the reverse fixture at Grenoble Road but had lost the previous four. However, Oxford’s last win against the Sky Blues did come at the CBS Arena with a 1-0 victory in 2019.
